8-8-8 RULE : Work Life Balance
The productivity rule helps increase focus by breaking down tasks into manageable chunks by limiting yourself to eight hours of work, eight hours of sleep, and eight hours of leisure non-work activities each day.
You can increase focus on the task at hand and become more productive in the long run. This rule helps you to become more productive without feeling tired, bored, and stressed.
So, how to apply this 8-8-8 rule in everyday life? We have to distribute our time, 24 hours, into 3 parts, into 8 + 8 + 8 hours to make a good balance sheet of our life.
8 hours of honest, full of passion, professional hard work
8 hours of good sleep and rest
8 hours should be spent on leisure of non-work :
3 Fs are Family, Friends, Faith
3 Hs are Health, Hygiene, Hobby
3 Ss are Soul, Service, Smile
To carry out all these routines, we need to diligently record all our activities in a journal and daily planner. Every morning or the night before I always make a to-do list of what activities I will do today. Then at night before going to bed I will evaluate whether my activities are productive and in accordance with the 8-8-8 rule.
